RIDING DIRTY!!!!!

Up until this summer I never had A favorite car. I have few cars that I favoured for years now and the jeep wrangler was  one of them. I forgot how much I love those babies until I saw about 5 of them (I knew I was down south ) in less them 20 minutes on the highway. I fell in love all over again...
The fact that these cars go ''topless'' and ''doorless'' is so sexy to me...

GREAT LENGHTS

I went shopping downtown with my nieces yesterday. I touched a long black fitted skirt that my niece called a " Jehovah witness skirt" . I don't know why people associate long skirts to religion, I said.  My love for maxi dresses and skirts has grown stronger this year !!!! There is something elegant about those ankle length skirts. What I love about this trend is that you can wear it all year round.

COUP DE COEUR ; SS13

I remembered smiling and feeling beautiful the first day of spring. After work I felt like going for a LOOOOONG walk. The weather was just perfect. Sunny day with a little bit of wind. I started thinking about summer( yeah, that's right, I waste no time). All the beautiful MAXI DRESSES and SKIRTS that will be in the stores windows. SANDALS. BOYFRIEND JEANS paired with TANK TOPS and all. The next day the temperature dropped . The rain ,my itching eyes ,nostrils and throat  reminded me why I hated Spring. Well maybe I should call it a loveandhate relationship. Spring for  me is like a reminder that summer is not to far So just to keep the hope alive I still get excited about clothes . Here are my coup de coeur right now....

SOLANGE SOLANGE SOLANGE

I think Solange got everybody's attention when she started rocking that afro and started looking less like a Beyonce-wanna-be. I love this girl's music, but when It comes to fashion I may have been the only one not convinced. I felt like she was told to go that route because her sister already has the sexy-diva look on lock. I didnt really care for her wardrobe until I saw what she wore at the ESSENCE event.

 

She looked very chic in this bold multi-hued , striped Ostwald Helgason blouse,a matching skirt and white and golg Nicholas Kirkwood pointy-toed pumps.

And just when I'm starting to get close to her ( YES I AM..lol.) She gave me another reason to love her even more....this little chica stole her sister's limelight last night ( at the premiere of Beyonce's documentary) in a white dress-shirt. (below)....

 

 

This to me, is like a perfect example that less-is-always-more saying...I love this look so much I'm curious to see that shirt underneath that blazer. I'd do this look in a New-York minute....oooh Actually I rock this look almost every summer...(wink wink ). I even have a picture(below) from a couple of summers ago to prove it...:)

2012 REVIEW

They say better late than never. So here is everything I loved in 2012.From music to fashion,some are new found loves and others are rekindled love. Lets start with the  fashion .
My favorite fashion trends in 2012:
 Leather I've always been a fan of leather.The last few years have seen leather becoming a big hit. But in 2012 (andIm sure we'll see this year also) , leather took on new meaning as it becomes ladylike, luxurious and seductive, not rough and tough.
A leather jacket has always been a great investment piece and this year is no different. Leather jeans ,pants or leggings were also big during fall/winter 2012. They are a great dressy alternative for night time ,paired with nice heels. So wearing leather this year is not about that biker look it's more sophisticated and even pratical.

Peplum. Again ,another very feminine trend. As tricky as this trend can be, I'm sure there is a peplum style for every body type. I think peplum is fun.You know,jolly. But I didn't go crazy for it, so just one black peplum bustier top was enough for me. And I don't think this trend will carry through 2013.

Camouflage No longer for soldiers, this trend was a big comeback last fall. I like to keep my camo very simple, so I wasn't into the "chemises" , camo knit dresses or skirts. I like the jeans and parkas  only. Ah and camo snapbacks are very cool.

Layered bracelets I love this trend because you can easily make it your own. Just 4 things you have to pay attention to.Color,texture, size and style....

Now on the music,,,I used to listen to Hip-Hop back in the days until the era of Wacka Flocka( I think that's how you spell it) came around  and I closed that door for a little while. But recently I was listenning to fabolous new mixtape; SOULTRAIN (story telling at its best). I fell in love with Fab all over again.
I'm also loving Asap Rocky right now. Throughout the year, I listened alot to Timothy Bloom, Tank, Usher (of course). Usher keeps getting better and better . Monica. Maxwell. Florence and the Machine. Emili Sandé. Frank Ocean. Veronica Bozeman. Chrisette Michelle. Ledisi. Marsha Ambrosius. Tyrese. Santigold. Nas. And  Kate Nash.
I`m loving 2013 so far .I can`t wait to discover what it has in store. Thanks for reading and remember  staying positive will take you far in life...Bisous
