HOW MANY MICS DOES SHE RIP ON A DAILY??

These days ,the level of anticipation that awaits any Lauryn Hill's performance is crazy. I mean the Lauryn has been away from the spotlight  for a long ,long ,long time. So it's no surprise that the news of her comeback  tour created mixed feelings among her fans. Although, the concert in Montreal was instantly sold out ( well the metropolis is a small venue after all), people still feared they would regret their decision.( based on everything we heard about her mental stability.) I was just exicited to see her again on stage. Going to the concert, I knew what to expect ,and I was not disappointed. Okay, okay, she was late as usual, I started to get tired of her DJ's weak attempt to entertain me , but when she hit the stage with  those classics ( she opened with a Bob Marley song, then went through "The miseducation " and some numbers from "The Score "), I remembered why I love that lady. I must say.

21 YEAR OLD VIRGIN?????

Few months ago, I was impressed by the stories of two beautiful women on the Oprah Winfrey show. The ladies were in their early thirties and still virgins. They had never been in love, had never been in serious relationships and never had sex. Now ,one of the ladies said she had brick walls surrounding her. Fears!!. Fear to live, fear to love ,fear to be vulnerable. The other young lady had self-esteem issues( weighing close to 300 pounds), so she spent alot of her time in her bedroom.
Now this stories came back to me, because, a couple of weeks ago i found out a young lady I know is a virgin.....at 21 . All I could muttered was " stop playing" , until I realised she was as serious as an heart attack. Then , next thing I asked, " how did you do that?", she said she has seen some guys recently but hasn't liked anyone enough to have sex with them...(Now that's powerful) I went on to say, "of course it will be stupid for you to give it so easy now , you waited all these years, but I mean how did you deal with peer pressure as a teen , like, squash the peer pressure, how did you deal with the hormones?? She just smiled and said: " I don't know".
The difference between the ladies on Oprah and my friend, is that , she has an outgoing personality, this girl goes to the club almost every weekend. She is also well grounded, from what I can tell.
I don't care what you've heard , but sex is a huge deal, even though society doesn't seem to think so. I mean how many relationships failed because of sex. I 'm not gonna get too much into that last phrase , or this topic will never end, but you get the point. And to those who think that being a virgin at that age is impossible these days  or think that men won't like it , because they like experienced women, yadi yadi yada , all I've got  to say is that you know you just mad, because you wish u had waited too!!!!!
So whether religious reasons or moral reasons, or even anormality ( asexuality), as long as you are ok with it...
So to my dear friend!! I commend you!!! Make me proud when that day comes!!!...:)
I LOVE YOU , GIRLIE!!!!

HEY 2010, IT WAS NICE TO MEET YA, BUT I 'VE GOTTA MOVE ON!

Raising my glass to 2011. If you stay ready, you won't have to get ready!

As as said in the intro to the blog 2010 was not a bad. Before that year I never knew the true meaning of that saying "what a difference a year makes". In the beginning of 2010 I knew I wanted to quit my 9 to 5 to pursue my dreams, I just didn't realized how challenging it was going to be. All I knew is that I had to beat my fear, so I got ready, and did it. During my off time, I was blessed to see some of my family members, went back to Atlanta and saw some of my  favorites ladies in the world...Saw Dee in NY( that girl inspires me, keep me in check whenever I lose focus)...I did some more traveling , and came back to Montreal; only to be forced to get rid of my doggies. A decision I dont regret , but I had my babies for 5 years, so of course, it saddens me...Great challenges during that year, but I embraced them all and kept pushing( Pray Until Something Happens)..Things are looking promessing right now, I can say that much.
I usually dont like the hole new year resolution deal, because I dont feel like I should wait for january to  set some goals. Granted, through experiences , I learned from my mistakes, and won't repeat certain things this year, but an actual written-new-year-resolution is not something I ll do. OOOOH maybe 1 thing......I really want to stop biting my nails!!!!!!

here are pics of  the bests of 2010..

HOLIDAYS!!!!!

I KNOW, I KNOW, I KNOW, I have been gone for awhile, but it was for a good cause, trust me!!!
I wanted to do my christmas shopping idea earlier , but never got to it and the parties are tonight so i might be a late on that one....I won't focus on christmas then...let's see what happened since the last time I wrote..
Oh yes !!! THE BAY store, downtown Montreal..OKAY...I've lived in Montreal for 6 years ,and I can count how many times I went to that store; the truth is I dont really like department stores. I 'll explain why later. Now back to the story, I went to the 8th floor , looking for the Human Ressources department, and what do I found??? DESIGNER DRESSES ON DISCOUNT!!! I'm  talking up to 70% off of the original prices..BALMAIN shoes, HALSTON dresses and many more...so if you haven't bought ur New Year's outfit, maybe you should stop there.  585 ST. CATHERINE W., Montreal - (514) 281-4422
Now as for the best look for the holidays, between metallics, sequins, velvet, little black dress, and red, I thing LBDs will be my favorite look. So easy to pull off.You can go to any party with a gorgeous litlle black dress. Plus if you must have that litlle extra , you can go for velvet one...The great thing about LBDs is that even the ones from the cheap stores often, don't look cheap. Nice shoes and accessories will do the trick..

nice black stockings under this dress will do it , if you live in a cold place like Canada...
I'm gonna leave you for now, promise to be back soon...Merry Christmas to you all, enjoy your love ones, and be very very careful out there...I'm going to bed!!! yes you heard me...:)....
Thanks for reading

THIS TIME FOR AFRICA???

African designers had been complaining about the fact that they don't get much exposure on the international stages. But lately American designers or celebreties have been up on African fabric...
ANKARA has been very popular on the red carpet since last year. Ankara are vibrant patterns of very rich colorful designes. Mostly made of 100% cotton or cotton poly material. This wax resist dyed fabric was exported to the gold coast, referred as Dutch was from Holland. It spreaded over west Africa into central africa and were largely produced in Nigeria. Originally, Ankara was reserved for cultural festivities. It acquired its current name Ankara when the turks made a cheaper version of the fabric.
Africans use these bold festive fabrics to tell stories, poems and traditional african tales. Depending on the pattern of the design a specific name is given; for example you will often hear people refer to the different design names like, oeil de ma rivale (my rival's eye), mon mari m'a laisse( my husband left me)
Now those are examples of the ones from Ivory Coast, names may vary in other African countries.
Earlier this year when the fabric was spotted on celebs like Beyonce, Alicia Keys , Fergie and many more many young african designers and fashionistas had mix feelings, happy for the spotlight our culture was getting, but hated the fact that BOXING KITTEN( designer of beyonce and Alicia famous Ankara outfits) was getting all the credit for something that they( the Africans) have been around this fabrics and designs for so long, they were questioning the authenticity.
Well, as for me ,an african girl myself, I'm just happy our fabrics went from being regarded as the fabric of the poor to become a choice of the rich and famous. I mean the girl( Boxing Kitten), in no way, said she reinvented Ankara, so I'm good with that as long as you gave the proper aknowledgement.
Enough said here are some pics of my favorites...

So thats it for now, fashion-lovers...hmmmmm..I ll take more pics of me in my african clothes for y'all but until then, stay beautiful, and blessed!!!!!!

OH i was gonna forget about this one....FULANI earrings....I mean what do you know?! These earrings
are hand-crafted in Mali, West Africa. Its no wonder this babies are getting attention, as I said in a previous post accessories always give the WOW factor to any outfit, and theses earrings, vibrantly stand out. Fulani earrings are one of the most-talked about pieces of jewelry from Africa. Apparently , they are so popular, it’s hard to keep them in stock, especially since there are only a few people who make them now....

RED RED RED

It 's the holidays season , time to get your red on ....
They say red is a really powerful color, so do it in moderation....red wine? moderation, same rule applies in clothes..If there is one thing I hate is seeing people wearing red from head to toes...I HATE IT , I HATE IT, IT HATE IT......OKay I made my point...
Red means many things to many people.Warmth,cheer,bright,strength,royalty,power,promescuity.
So please when you are wearing a red dress, ladies, your shoes do not need to be red too...And for accessories, gold always look good with red.
You just have to find the perfect shade of red for you..I had a problem when red lips came back in style, it was hard finding the perfect shade of red for me , because of my skin complexion and my big lips( I m not complaining , I promise)...but this summer i found the perfect one for me,Lancome Rouge a levres mat attraction 116 Baiser Grenadine and most MAC deep reds...
So this holiday be bold and go for red, but be careful , you dont want the kids to mistake you for Santa!!!

You see how she is wearing black shoes?? ok take notes
Lanvin red dress for H&M...oh I tried this on, and that dress is gorgeous, I have a problem with the price. which makes me hate the idea of LANVIN at H&M...( I'll explain that one later..)
