MONTREAL FASHION WEEK ....( SPRING 2011) or was it??!!!

This year I had the opportunity to be in the mist of Montreal's fashion week...Ok so, I'm going to be as honest as I can without being too rude..lol
Since I was ''working'', I didnt have the chance to see all designers presentations, but I'm sure I didnt miss much.
During each designer's show, I would always look for facial expressions around the room, but especially  Glen baxter(fashion tv's reporter). I could not help but noticing the look of boredom on his face..I mean , there were smiles, and nods from time to time...but for the most part , the man was not impressed. Granted he has seen the biggest fashion shows in the world, but that 's beside the point.
Montreal is a small but very multicultiral city. You would expect to see it in the designers' work; but they all played it safe.
Mon coup de coeur was Dimitri Christ. The colors, the quality, everything was there.Futuristic and relevant at the same time.(http://www.http//www.dimitrichris.com/)
I also loved Ezra Constantine. I liked the sporty and army look...Sporty ,practical but very elegant. (http://gretaconstantine.com/)
Music and presentation are very important in a fashion show, and Caroline Neron had both on point. The live music and the half naked (lol) models was great entertainment...(http://www.carolineneron.com/)
I was looking forward to see Barila, only to be disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the clothes were nice but thats all i have to say. Nothing that i havent seen in all the stores around montreal.(http://www.barilaclothing.com/next_bg.php)
Finally , the look book done by YSO was well done..I mean what a difference the right accessories or the right leggings/tights can do under a dress can make..I found myself liking some designers pieces i didnt even noticed on that designer's catwalk.....
In all the show was good , but come on MTL there is more talent here...so bring it!!!!!!

SHOES SHOES SHOES

We can all agree that shoes can make or break an outfit. No matter how well dressed you are , if the shoes ain't right, then you waisted 30 minutes( for some of us) of your life, getting dressed. On that note I like to point out that I really hate those UGG people are trying hard to make them look chic. The only thing they are is confortable and warm....So above is a sneak pick of some of my treasure..:)

JUMPSUITS

My favorite trend...I litterally have to stop myself from buying new ones everytime i see some (Fatim is my witness..lol)...the thing about jumpsuits is that you either love it or hate it...I must admit they are hard to pull of....mostly easier for models to rock them....these past couple years they were one everyone's fall and spring collections...they have even been see on the red carpets. And with so many new styles , you dont have to be a model to look good wearing one. I only wish that designers will make them like the babies', you know , easy to go to the loo....(wink)...

FALL FASHIONS

Cropped jackets are the perfect transition from summer to fall...go on everything, whether dress down or up..always have a chic style...
This black leather Alice by Temperley cropped jacket  above can be worn over a dress or a skirt
whereas the green Smithe double-breasted one bellow  will be perfect for jeans or that thighs and shorts look, everybody is doing this fall
Jacquard knits: Because they are very warm, you will not need to wear a jacket over them.Longsleeves t-shirts or turtlenecks are great underneath...H&M has great ones
Clogs  are back; to my advantage (i've always been a fan)...here are my favorites...
Velvet: perfect for the holidays in my book.I mean christmas is all about being glamourous, chic and very lady-like-pretty, so instead of going for the LBD, go for colorful velvet
